Setting up an IP allow list
What is an IP allow list?
An IP allow list is a security setting that only grants users access to the GoFlo CMS from pre-approved IP addresses. If they try to log in from another location, an error message is shown. This improves security because administrators can enforce that users log in to the CMS from fixed locations such as an office or through a VPN.
Setting it up through the user management module
The GoFlo CMS supports setting an IP allow list per user to limit CMS access to trusted networks. As soon as at least one IP address is on the IP allow list, the IP allow list functionality is activated for that account.
Only users with the headuser permission level can manage the IP allow list of users through the user management module. Here is how:
- Log in to the GoFlo CMS. On the main screen, choose gebruikers in the menu. (If only one website is linked to your account, you are taken straight to the page management of your website. In that case, in the menu choose Meer van GoFlo -> Gebruikers.)
- Click the pencil icon next to the user you want to edit.
- Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address you want under the “IP toestemmingslijst” field.
- Click “Bijwerken” to save the change.
The IP address is now linked to the user, and CMS access is only possible from the IP addresses entered.
